My biggest takeaway from organizing on this campaign is not different from other issues– work with communities who are most directly impacted by the problem that the legislation purports to serve and make sure those spokespeople are at the front of any opposition to this bill. Don’t let the telecom industry get away with pushing the idea that 5G will solve the digital divide.

While it is incredible to see these teens step up, we don’t have the luxury of waiting for cooler, younger heads to prevail.

If we treat each other with respect and allow people to show up as their full selves, we can grow movements beyond any one issue or organization and reach more people than we ever thought was possible.

These are questions I never ask myself in coming to a new place. It made me think about the ways I am connected and detached to the lands of this country and the people that occupy them.
